Here’s a little history:
I was one of those kids that at the age of 6 I was absolutely stuck to my mom’s computer. Back in those days, I loved games and MS Paint. Not too long after this, my parents agreed to get me my own computer. I eventually taught myself HTML and CSS at the ripe ol’ age of 14.
Fast forward through lots of my own experimentation with programs like Flash, Photoshop and the like, and in college I found myself at Portland State University and graduated with a BA in Graphic Design.
But it’s really my job experience that polished my skills.
I’ve held a variety of positions; from those that focused on print design – things like catalogs, brochures, even making custom artwork to be printed on promotional items like cups, to web design – as a UI (user interface) analyst where I focused more on web work and did lots of front-end development (i.e., making websites work).
